Dr. Amy Kerger is here to explain. [Onscreen text: Amy Kerger, DO Diagnostic Radiologist, Breast Cancer Imaging] Dr. Kerger: Many people think that breast cancer only presents as a lump. And, though that is one of the symptoms, there are many. Inflammatory breast cancer is kind of a rare form of breast cancer that happens in women. And many people have not heard about it, but it presents a red swollen breast or your breast changes sizes pretty dramatically. Swelling under the armpit or a nipple discharge that would be spontaneous, clear or bloody. The skin may have the appearance of an orange peel. We here at The James at Ohio State, we have experts in inflammatory breast cancer. We actually have one of the only inflammatory breast cancer clinics in the Midwest. We have a lot of research going on in clinical trials at Ohio State for all breast cancers. Hogan: So who is at risk? Dr. Kerger: Well, all women are at risk who have breasts and are 20 through the end of your life.
